ARTIST’S STATEMENT
A fountain is an integral part of the feng shui of a garden or a house, and provides a relaxing atmosphere through its delicate shape, reflections of the light and calming sound. Fountains are also believed to bring good luck and prosperity. In the past few years, Alexandra’s main focus has been on glass fountains and mirrors. She says: 'Nature has always been a great source of inspiration for me. Fountains create a little oasis in the garden or can help bring a piece of nature indoors, which counteracts the stressful and fast paced life we often live in'. Alexandra is interested in the meaning of colours and their properties. Her work is sometimes planned, and sometimes evolves as she is making it. The fountain presented, Sunburst In Blues, is themed around the sun - generator of life and energy, turquoise - a healing colour, and blue - source of relaxation.
