Richmond Adult College,
Bucks and Chiltern University - BA with Honour in ceramics, and glass. I now sell my work through galleries and exhibitions around the country.
The inspiration for my work comes from nature - flowers and plants. Ideas for my glass designs were firstly developed at Banbury School of Art and Design where I studied textiles.
As a designer I wanted to create a range of glass that was alive with colour and striking to look at, and that also captures the vibrant colours of nature in order to allow them to be a permanent fixture in the home.
The image is first drawn onto the glass with specially designed pens and the glass is filled with up to twenty differently coloured frits and enamels, which are then trapped beneath a second piece of glass and fired. A second firing creates the shape.
