ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Brett's glass work comes in many forms and scales from installations to chargers and jewellery. The inspiration for some of her glass work comes from her travels, photography, collections, memories and nature. She experiments in glass to elucidate her curiosities about the wonderful material with its ability to transmit and reflect light from its multiple surfaces projecting myriad colours and light around each object. Some of her recent work explores the nature of grief, working in series and making a collection of progressively altering small black and white tactile glass pots, each imbued with deep emotion and meditative thought in the making. She is also working on an autobiographical series of vessels inspired by her large collection of antique blue and white ceramics. CONTACT info@brettmanley.co.uk www.brettmanley.co.uk |
