ARTIST’S BACKGROUND

I have been working as a stained glass artist since graduating from Chelsea College of Art and Design, where I studied for the BA in Public Art and Design. I run my own company, Fire Horse Glass, and undertake regular commissions. Lately I have been moving towards less confined work.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Having worked in a very craft-orientated way, I was keen to explore how my work with glass could become more abstract. Studio glass has allowed me to do this, with its emphasis on experimentation. Time spent on Paxos in Greece last summer was a godsend, allowing me to unwind from city life and see a future, which involves not living in and relying, perhaps, on London. It focused me on not only developing my work in a far freer fashion, but working towards bringing about major changes that will allow me to move on. If there is a theme to my work apart from simply having fun, it is seeing what can be achieved without a rigid structure, whether that involves my art or how the next few years will unfold.
