ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Jackie works with glass and copper, casting the two together in the kiln, creating a contrast in texture both visual and tactual. Jackie attempts to use the contrast in the reaction of the copper and glass when fired together, to represent society, the dark and the light, the errosive and the reflective. The errosive effect society can have on our quality of life, affecting the way we think, feel, react and, interact with each other. The light, which brings, hope, reflection, clarity and transparency of thought, used to help combat, soften, the effect of the other.
