ARTIST'S STATEMENT

The experience gained in film & television has enabled Kathlyn to work within a restricted area, a discipline to simplify an image. Each piece of glass is treated as a painting. Overlapping layers of coloured glass are fused together to create an image of sea or landscape; a horizon a memory of a time and place; an experience to participate the eye. Drawing using a simple line to make a statement is a very elegant way of engaging the eye. A clear panel of glass is a frame an area in which to work, drawing with wire, simplifying the image to few lines to create an impact.
