From 1990 – 1993 I studied Fine Art (Painting) at Kingston University. Afterwards I gained an MA in Barcelona with Winchester School of Art.
This experience had a great impact on my work. From this point onwards I became increasingly involved with craft, the experience of making, and the three dimensional. I have since worked in a variety of diverse mediums and techniques, which include glass, fabric, ceramics, photography, print-making and felting, often in combination.
I currently work from my home studio in Acton and the glass and ceramic studios at Richmond Adult Community College.
I am a mixed media artist who explores many different mediums. I create work from found materials and a collection of hand-made children’s clothing which has been passed down generations to me with a sea of memories and unspoken connections that bind me to them. The garments, once worn, have become unwearable, and speak of emptiness and the loss of the characters that once inhabited them.
The process of gathering and creating allows each piece to undertake a new journey and adapt to their new found habitat and domestication.
