ARTIST’S BACKGROUND
Xiaoou studied 3D Glass Design at Richmond Adult Community College, gaining her Higher National Diploma. She has been writing Chinese calligraphy since a young age and also likes to draw. A year taking a Post Graduate course in Art & Design at Central St Martin’s, London, further developed her passion for creativity.
In 2006 she took a work placement in Max Jacquard’s studio assisting with For My Lost Loves 2 and Sleeping Girl.
Xiaoou returned to China in 2008.
 
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Xiaoou uses natural forms, inspired by the natural wild freedom, its freshness, delicacy and strength to produce both functional and decorative work. Xiaoou’s work also aims to highlight common nature, its simplicity and its impact on our lives.
