ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Working from my Ealing studio, I create nature inspired kiln-formed glass, stained glass, mosaic and jewellery. Each piece is one of a kind, embracing the natural traces of the firing process rather than concealing them. I am drawn to glass not as a cold, perfect material, but as something dynamic and beautifully fragile. Every kiln opening feels like a small miracle, always yielding a unique result. I enjoy making my own glass panels using pattern bars, mesh melt, pot melt and powder paining which I then shape into organic forms by slumping over various objects in the kiln. I'm working on improving my pâte de verre and casting techniques. CONTACT [email protected] www.dotcow.co.uk Instagram: Polka Dot Cow Designs Facebook: Polka Dot Cow Designs |
ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
I moved to the UK from Poland in 2001 and undertook various art courses while working full time in various project management consultancies. I explored fashion design at Central St Martins College of Fashion having been making and designing clothes from my early teens. I then took NVQ levels 1, 2 and 3 in silversmithing which I'm now incorporating into my glass work. Inspired by nature, my work exists between art and craft, exploring organic movement, light, and reflection. Alongside my glass practice, I design naturalistic gardens through Agata Henderson Garden Design, bringing the same sense of rhythm, harmony, and living beauty into landscape spaces.
