ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My work has always referenced natural forms. Living by the river in Shepperton I am surrounded by wildlife and nature that informs my work. I apply mould making processes to make cast and pate de verre work. I regard all my glass pieces as learning experiments. I love that even a small adjustment in the process can open up multiple new opportunities and pathways. CONTACT [email protected] |
ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
I trained and practiced as a printmaker and was in charge of Printmaking for the Graphic Design department at LCP (London College of Printing, now LCC). After 25 years I moved to the Art & Design School at Kingston University where I became Professor of Art & Design Pedagogy. During external examining at Plymouth College of Art I became interested in glass and met Angela Thwaites who told me about the Richmond College glass course which I then joined.
I have experimented with different cast glass techniques often using natural forms as a reference. I now have a small kiln and studio space at home to continue my experimentation and growth as a glass artist.
