ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I started my glass journey in 2021 when I enrolled on the beginners creative glass course at RHACC. I have no artist background but have always had a love of the sea and nature. I’m inspired by the sea, its movement, changing shape and kaleidoscope of colours. I feel calm by the sea and at peace, something which is increasingly difficult in the turmoil and challenge of the world we live in. Increasingly I question our existence and philosophical outlook of those around us. Creating allows me to step back and appreciate the wonders of the place we call home. My work started with simple fused rolling waves, lost wax with ice moulds for casting, then more recently I have been working with Pate de Verre forming waves which have been fused and slumped.
