ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I was brought up in a home where textiles played a central role in our lives. My family were in the fashion business and my mother had a large collection of vintage and antique textiles and lace. I would spend hours fascinated by the intricacy of the lace designs and wonder at the patience needed to embroider and stitch something by hand. Often wondering, if it was a piece of clothing what memories these items held and who had worn them. My glass work so far has revolved around this interest in textiles as well as connected personal family stories. I have explored a range of different techniques and enjoyed the challenge of using such a fascinating medium to express my ideas. CONTACT [email protected] |
ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
I completed a BA Degree in Textiles and Fashion at Loughborough College of Art and Design. Following a brief spell in the fashion industry, I went on to teach Art and Design in secondary schools in London.
Many years later I decided to try a glass class at Richmond College and become fascinated by this medium and all its possibilities. I was a student there for a number of years studying with Monette Larsen until 2024.
