Alison Allum creates artworks of glass and found materials. By exploiting the qualities of glass that can apply to women: allure, danger, fragility, she aims to portray the predicaments of modern women, presenting the themes in a theatrical manner that is both challenging and amusing. ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
South East England Theatre Design, winning a Royal Society of Arts Fellowship and travelling bursary to the USA.
Arts Council of Britain Design Award to the Theatre Royal, Bristol.
Alison designed for major TV programmes in the UK and overseas, including Taggart, The Bill and Mrs Dalloway.
Masters degree from the University of Sunderland at the National Glass Centre.
Her work is in private collections, has been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle upon Tyne, Landmark Arts, Richmond upon Thames and the Cill Rialaig Project, Ireland .
