ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My work generally involves an attempt to communicate and explore emotional vulnerability, including the hold of family bonds, as well as personal struggle and mental health. Use of exuberant colour and echoes of my favourite European cities and landscapes are also recurring themes. CONTACT [email protected] |
ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
I started out working in stained glass as a hobbyist with no formal art background, but became impatient with working in a flat context and moved into kiln-formed glass techniques, first taking a short course with Alan Newton, then moving to longer courses taught by Sabrina Cant, Max Jacquard, Angela Thwaites and most recently Monette Larsen.
As an occasional artist, it can be a struggle to produce finished results, but I’ve been proud to be able to exhibit work with my Just Glass colleagues, most recently as part of ‘Liquid to Solid: The Mutability of Glass’ at the Stables Gallery.
