ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My work is influenced by the seascapes and geology of our coastal regions. Although I use a number of kiln-formed techniques my preference and passion is pâte de verre which lends itself to capture the ephemeral beauty and colours of our shoreline. Recently I’ve been experimenting with adding surface texture to my work. This entails a technique that I call ‘frittage’ and involves multiple firings to my pâte de verre. ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
I began working in glass in late 2016, having stepped back from full time work in the City. I was looking for a hobby, never realising that a one-week kiln-formed glass course at the Art Academy would lead to a full time addiction. I attended a number of adult education courses at Kensington & Chelsea College and Richmond & Hillcroft Community College before studying Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art (graduating in 2023).
I currently work out of my studio in South Wimbledon.
2019 – 2020: Post Graduate Studies Ceramics & Glass, Royal College of Art (RCA)
2017 – 2018: BTEC – Level 3, Glass, Kensington & Chelsea College
2016 – 2017: University of Creative Arts, Diploma Level 2 Art & Design – Glass, Kensington & Chelsea College
