ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I am a figurative artist. My passion is to create art about the human figure: ideas stem from my interest in dance, theatre, masks, myths & all things mysterious. I work with ceramics, raku, wax for bronze & recently kiln fired glass. I am in my 2nd year glass & obsessed by it’s amazing qualities. I adore colour; enjoy fusing my life drawings and sand casting figures, torsos & masks; scale varies according to time and availability of space. A recent commission for a 5ft.Holocaust Memorial involved a chunk of blue glass at it’s heart; that’s what triggered me off to investigate glass as a medium for my work & I intend to continue studying to develop and create my sculpture in glass.
