ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My inspiration comes from textures and forms found in nature. Most recently by Lichens I came across walking in the Sussex countryside. It was their assorted colours and shapes that fuelled my imagination to make "Lichenscape" wall hangings. My recent project has been made with varying grades of frit to create tactile compositions where holes and curves are visible through layers of glass. Often my work begins with a glass centre piece and thereafter I add further delicate glass pieces or layers. This allows each creation to grow into something completely unique and often rather spontaneous. CONTACT www.facebook.com/christinelababidiglass |
ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
I started my journey with Glass about 8 years ago at Adult evening classes and was quickly inspired by the endless opportunities glass has to offer. Having studied leading and copper foiling I found I was drawn more to ways of creating texture in glass and most recently have been experimenting with Pate De Verre methods.
