ARTIST'S STATEMENT
After previous explorations in drawing and painting , I have brought these interests to glass, but have exchanged the medium of paint for coloured glass frit. The result is an image with the transparency of watercolour but the fragile solidity of glass. I enjoy the challenge of glass and trying to harness its qualities into my own vision. ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
Having come to glass as a mature student, I find there is still much to explore and discover about this medium.
An HNC course in 3D design has encouraged me in new directions in ceramics as well as glass.
My first exhibition of glass was at Just Glass: Art of the Possible in January 2014 where I showed a monochrome nude back. A second nude was accepted for exhibition in the Glass Biennale 2015 and won the Runner-up Student prize. This encourages me to experiment and expand my work.
