Georgia Redpath is inspired by the geometry and pattern found in the natural world, particularly how a limited number of repeated parts can build into a world of variety and complexity. She uses a small number of elements, combined and repeated in both two and three dimensions, to create a family of related, yet individually unique, pieces. She is now exploring a systematic approach to modular mould-making as a PhD candidate at the University of Wolverhampton.
Based in Stourbridge, Georgia has been working with glass since 2007. She makes work to commission and for exhibition, as well as teaching shorts courses here in the UK and in Europe. In 2019 she won the Warm Glass Prize (‘Other Glass’ category). www.georgiaredpath.co.uk |
