I love to work to a narrative, in particular stories about the landscape and the world around us. Since learning how to screen print on glass I have taken this technique to my work and am very excited by the process. I am currently working on a series of panels based on aerial views of my local landscape of The South Downs, the ancient history and the archaeology. I have made and exhibited cast glass, recently I made a cast of a stained glass window which I used as a metaphor for looking back in time at a story about a Neolithic burial site. I like to include sculptural elements to my stained glass by using slumping, fusing and sandblasting alongside the traditional techniques.

ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
I started my glass career in 1996 after attending a local adult education course in stained glass, from this point I was totally hooked! I set up a little studio in my garden and juggled making pieces with my young family. In 2000 I enrolled on a leisure course at Hastings art college to learn fusing and slumping , this opened up many possibilities in my work. Two years later I took the plunge to attend college full time as a mature student and graduated in 2006 with a first class Honours degree in art and design (craft) After this I started teaching for Acres Adult Education in Heathfield, East Sussex and then for Hastings College. I no longer teach at an institution as I have the facilities to teach in my own studio which I have done for the last 10 years.
