ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My method of making is governed by my vision. Inspired by the beauty found in the fundamentals of geometry, recurrence, order and disorder. I am endlessly fascinated by the ever-changing patterns that emerge from the movement of water, the flicker of flames, and the delicate perfection of crystal structures. I hope to capture the impermanence and the perpetual flux of the world around us. CONTACT [email protected] https://www.jessielee.co.uk |
ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
I was a ceramist. Then when my children were young, I worked as a printmaker. I had a very successful career with three agents selling my work. About 15 years ago I had an urge to go back to sculpting and working in three dimensions. Needing a new challenge, I decided to try a material I had no knowledge of - glass. Initially self-taught, I then took short courses in Richmond College then later gained a master’s degree at University for the Creative Arts (UCA) Farnham College.
Grymsdke Farm, an experimental workshop for architecture and design students approached me to help with their projects. There I learned to use CAD software. Now I do my modelling on the computer but still hand model when I feel the need. I have my own 3D printer. Currently I am experimenting with casting direct from my 3D prints.
