ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I work mostly using fusing and enamels to create glass panels from my own artwork. I enjoy making portrait style glass panels. In these pieces I try to capture a mood or emotion. I like to create texture and use layers to create depth in my work. I have also been casting sculptural figures to capture a feeling of calmness and wellbeing. ARTIST'S BACKGROUND
My first experience of working with glass was when I enrolled on a contemporary and architectural glass workshop. I was amazed at how versatile glass could be, whilst also discovering and learning the different techniques that could be used to manipulate glass. I was completely hooked by this point and eager to learn more.
I have always been a creative person. I studied art and design at college, and although I never pursued a career in art, I have always had a strong passion to be creative. I love to draw and paint, and this is the first place I begin with my ideas for my glass work. I attend college once a week to continue my learning and master my skills.
